Physicals will be held next Monday, January 22nd, beginning after school. Students will report to BHS Gymnasium following school with health forms completed prior to arrival. Physicals are $10 cash. All athletes coming out for spring-sports that have not already obtained one must have a physical performed prior to practice.

A huge thank you to Sandra Leagon for coming and doing a German cooking class for the Blacksburg High School German classes. The students LOVED their German Waffles and can’t wait to try spaghetti ice cream next semester!!

The Blacksburg Athletic Department will have physicals on Oct. 25th for male and female students prior to tryouts for basketball. Physicals are $10. Students are asked to report to the gym after school. All paperwork must be completed prior to this date and can be picked up from the main office or see athletic trainer, Mrs. Shanna Carroll.

It’s Senior Night!!!! Help us congratulate these two awesome Seniors! Ella McLain our phenomenal Outside Hitter who really brings the heat, and Savannah Miller our versatile Rightside and Middle Hitter/Blocker who can play anywhere she is needed. These ladies are not only great athletes, but they also are great examples of student athletes who lead on and off the court! Show your school spirit by putting on your black and gold and we’ll see you in the Cage! Help us congratulate our two motivational, dedicated, and supportive Senior Managers. Sydney Henry who I call Syd the kid who sings so beautifully at every home game and despite her injury still made a way to be apart of the team. The passionate Destiney Pope who not only keeps the books but assists with motivating and cheering the girls on! The Daily Duck Update continues. The BHS Yearbook Staff spins the prize wheel daily to award prizes from those who have found and turned in our miniature-ducks. Students get one entry per duck found and turned in to our yearbook sponsor, Mrs. Hughes. THE FREE YEARBOOK DUCK IS STILL HIDING! Keep looking!

Friday night will be home vs. 96 high school. Kickoff is set for 7:30. It will also be Little League recognition night. All 2G, 4G, and 6G Blacksburg teams are invited! We will be providing your coaches with more information this week! Looking forward to seeing all the guys this Friday!
